About

Eastward!

My name is Aaron Habibipour and I am a Artist, Adventurer, and Freemason currently residing in the Washington DC area. I am an avid traveler both physically and spiritually. Many of my travels center around exploration of locations and ideas that elevate my understanding of the human connection to the universe around us. I think spirituality and science run hand in hand, and I have an interest in the ancient cultures of the world that embraced this thinking.

From a
Masonic perspective, my interests lie squarely in Masonic Pre-history. There are plenty of scholars who look at our current body of ritual and symbol and can give you thorough breakdowns of "Modern" Masonry, basically anything post 1717. My interest is in the origins of The Craft, and whatever lost meanings our symbols and ritual contain. When the Grand Lodge first appeared on the scene, many of our "Antient" Brother Masons destroyed much of their documentation so that it would not make its way to the outside world (or, to other Masons - the "moderns"), and I have a deep curiosity as to why.
